Market Insights Abby Wilson February 20, 2025
We have been asked a lot recently about what's happening in the post-covid real estate market in Pittsburgh. Is covid over? (is that even possible). Have we returned to pre-covid housing levels? (no) Is there reason to be optimistic? (yes - definitely)
We took a deep dive into some of the numbers over the last few years, and there were some pretty big surprises.
1) Pittsburgh's housing market seems to be significantly more stable that Pennsylvania as a whole, and seems to have become more desirable over the course of the pandemic.
2) There are really great signs of activity in the housing market across key neighborhoods in the East in 2025 so far, looking at how numbers between Jan 1 and Feb 20 2025 compare to overall numbers from last year.
3) The desirability of and demand for 4BR+ houses is only increasing!
4) 3BR houses are becoming more affordable as a result.
5) Talk to us about selling your 4BR+ house for top dollar!
6) Talk to us about why you are looking to buy a 4BR house. If it's for work from home space, we might be able to help you create that in a variety of ways.
Here's a youtube video with all this and more...
And here is a copy-able worksheet where we played with the numbers...
Or you can just view it as a webpage here
PLEASE let us know if you decide to dig in here - we would love it!
